Half of Zootopia 2 box office comes from China

(ECNS) -- As of Sunday, the animated hit Zootopia 2 had grossed more than $539 million at the Chinese box office, while its global box office total reached $1.276 billion, according to Box Office Mojo by IMDbPro.

That means nearly half of the film's global box office revenue came from China.

A U.S. industry insider noted that China remains one of the world's most important and influential film markets. This demonstrates that box-office success in China can reshape a movie's global trajectory. Hollywood, he says, must take the Chinese market seriously.
