Chinese stocks closed mixed on Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index slightly up 0.06 percent, or 1.35 points, to end at 2,434.48.

The Shenzhen Component Index slid 0.23 percent, or 23.26 points, to 9,922.72.
