Over 1,000 Lancang-Mekong Express freight train trips operated since opening

As of Monday, more than 1,000 Lancang-Mekong Express freight train trips have been operated and 395,000 tonnes of goods have been shipped since its opening, according to the China Railway Kunming Group Co., Ltd.　

The Lancang-Mekong Express, which started operation in January 2022, takes 26 hours from Kunming to Vientiane with a speed of 120 kilometers per hour, shorter than the general freight transport.　

Since its opening, the freight volume on the railway has maintained a steady increase. The Lancang-Mekong Express trains have been operated on a daily basis to transport fruits, flowers and vegetables.
