Hacking accusations erroneous: spokesman

A Defense Ministry spokesman said Thursday that a US report alleging that Chinese hackers have obtained designs for U.S. weapon systems is erroneous.

The Washington Post cited a US Defense Science Board report to be submitted to the Pentagon as saying that many advanced US weapon systems designs have been obtained by hackers from China.

Spokesman Geng Yansheng said the report both underestimates the Pentagon's security capabilities and the Chinese people's intelligence.

"China already has the ability to build the weapons needed for national security. China's aircraft carrier, fighter jets, large transport aircraft and Beidou satellite navigation system have clearly demonstrated this," he said.
