Beijing (CNS) -- China's time-honored shops sought cooperation opportunities with overseas Chinese businesses at the 2013 Beijing Overseas Chinese Businessmen Fair held Thursday.

The event provided a platform for 39 time-honored businesses to negotiate and cooperate with overseas Chinese firms.

A person in charge of the booth for Quanjude said the company must fix labor and food sourcing problems before promoting its roast duck across the world. However, these problems can be solved by cooperating with overseas Chinese companies, the person said.

Though France's regulations are different than China's, with the help of localized Chinese businesses, Quanjude will finally get access to the French market, the person added.

It is the first time for the program organizers to introduce time-honored brands to the fair, said Li Changyuan, deputy director of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Beijing.

We hope the event can contribute to the transformation of time-honored brands, and help them promote their brand cultures around the world, Li added.
