Nanning (CNS) - The 2013 China-ASEAN Music Week opened in Nanning, capital of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, on Sunday.

Musicians and orchestras from China, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam and Singapore attended the opening ceremony.

The music week aims to advocate and promote excellent young musicians and their works, said Huang Zhihao, president of the Guangxi Musicians Association.

There will also be a series of academic exchanges and themed seminars during the week, including a study of folk music structure in China and ASEAN countries.
