Dallas (ECNS) Chinese tempting ladies.-- Six Asian pianists are among the finalists at the 14th Van Cliburn International Piano Competition held in Fort Worth, Texas.
A total of 30 finalists appeared at a launch ceremony for the competition on Wednesday.
Three of the six Asians are from China's mainland. Dong Feifei, Yuan Jie and Huang Ruoyu are postgraduate students at the Juilliard School in the United States. The other three Asian finalists are from Taiwan, Japan and the Republic of Korea.
Chinese pianist Liu Shih-Kun and Chinese American conductor Zhang Xian are among the 13 judges for the competition, which begins today and lasts until June 9.
Founded in 1962, the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition is one of the most influential piano competitions in the world.
