Beijing (ECNS) -- A regulation to fight air pollution will be submitted to city legislators and is expected to be adopted by the end of the year, Beijing's local legislative affairs office said Wednesday.
According to the regulation, the city will ban some vehicles on heavily polluted days, Yang Hong from the office said. But the regulation doesn't say which vehicles would be targeted, he added.
Total emission control is the goal of the regulation, Yang said, and the city will put more efforts into establishing an emission trading system. It's the first time a local regulation has mentioned the system, he added.
Li Fuying, deputy director of the office, said 11 other regulations are also expected to be implemented this year.
