Beijing (CNS) stimulating sirens.-- The municipal government of Beijing will manage and guide the pricing of new housing in the city by tightening the issuance of pre-sale permits to real estate developers, according to the Beijing Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban-Rural Development on Wednesday.

Relevant departments in Beijing will examine the pricing of the new houses before they grant the pre-sale permits to property developers, according to Yang Bin, director of the commission.

Pricing of new houses should not be higher than previously sold houses on the same premises built by the developer, nor should it be higher than the price of same-quality commercial buildings in surrounding areas, Yang said.

The regulation is expected to be enforced this year.
