Shenzhen (Ecns) - The 2013 China (Shenzhen) IT Summit was held on Sunday in Shenzhen of south China's Guangdong province.
China's information industry is developing at an amazing speed, Wu Hao, from China's National Development and Reform Commission, said at the event, co-hosted by the city of Shenzhen and E-China Alliances.
In 2012, China's information industry reached 12 trillion yuan. Transactions at Tmall under the Alibaba Group amounted to 1.2 trillion yuan last year, revenue at Tencent Inc hit 40 billion yuan, and Baidu hit 20 billion yuan, Wu added.
Guangdong's electronic information industry last year saw an added value of 453.1 billion yuan, and the amount of e-commerce transactions reached 1.5 trillion yuan, Guangdong's Vice Governor Liu Zhigeng said.
Alibaba Group CEO Ma Yun, Baidu's Chairman and CEO Li Yanhong and Tencent Chairman Ma Huateng all delivered keynote speeches at the summit and exchanged ideas on the development of smart phones and Internet finance.
