Zhengzhou (CNS) -- Migrant workers who hope to stay close to home crowded a large job fair in Zhengzhou, capital of central China's Henan province, on Tuesday.
Long lines of workers formed in front of recruiters for famous companies like Yutong Group, a bus-manufacturer, and Dennis Deportment Store.
Nie Shengqiu, a citizen of Xinxiang who arrived early, said, "Henan now has more opportunities, and I hope to find a job in Zhengzhou instead of going out."
Another man who had often left home to work as a mechanic said he wanted to stay home to take care of his aging parents.
Liu Yuan, who works at the fair, said that more than 10,000 migrant workers are expected to attend, and that about 300 enterprises will be offering positions varying from executives to household helpers.
Many large enterprises have built branches or factories in Henan, and salaries and work environments have improved, Liu said. The job fair is being held mainly to attract migrant workers back home, he added.
Wang Bailing, a recruiter from Gome Electrical Appliances, said many experienced salesmen are needed for positions in Henan.
