Linfen (CNS) ?C The Linfen city government has mobilized an emergency rescue team following the collapse of a local dam. The team will handle traffic control, security, electric power and medical services.

The top of an irrigation water duct at the Quting Reservoir in Hongtong County, Shanxi Province, caved in Friday morning, leading to the partial collapse of the dam's 300-meter walls. No casualties have been reported so far.

Several roads have been closed because of flooding caused by the collapse.

Old age was one cause of the accident, according to local officials. The water duct was established in 1959.
