Houston (CNS) -- Former NBA player Yao Ming and Jeremy Lin, a player for the Houston Rockets, cooperated at a charity activity in Houston on Valentine's Day.
Yao taped a public service announcement supporting his stand against shark fin soup and the practice of live shark finning. Lin also participated in the ad.
Lin launched a charitable foundation to help children and youths by providing hope, empowerment and leadership development. Yao also attended and showed support.
The gala was hosted on the sidelines of a three-day NBA All-Star Weekend. Yao will serve as a judge in the All-Star Slam Dunk contest, his first high-profile NBA appearance since retiring in 2011.
