Zhaoqing (CNS) -- Guangdong police said at a press conference Tuesday that they had arrested eight people involved in an armed drug trafficking gang.

The police said their first clue was the corpse of man who had been beaten to death, which they found on January 11 in Zhaoqing.

The victim surnamed Lin was found to be a member of a drug trafficking gang who had been killed by rivals, police said.

The police then moved in on the gang, seizing two shotguns, four gun replicas, one small-caliber pistol, explosives, bullets, drugs. It is the first successful drug-and-gun-related bust by Guangdong police this year.
