Beijing (CNS) -- The government will continue to push forward reform of China's electrical power sector in 2013, the country's electricity regulator said on Monday.

The State Electricity Regulatory Commission (SERC) said that it will regulate generation rights trading carefully and increase the ratio of clean energy used to create power capacity.

Several measures will be taken to close the gap between the supply and demand of electricity, the commission added.

It also said that trial of direct contracts between power plants and large industrial consumers will be expanded, and that it will implement progressive price rates for electricity consumption.
