Guangzhou (CNS) -- India's low-cost SpiceJet Airlines announced on Tuesday that it will enter the Chinese market, starting with a direct route from Guangzhou to New Delhi on February 9.
The route will operate every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, taking off from New Delhi at 5:10 p.m. and arriving at Guangzhou Baiyun Airport at 12:35 a.m.
Every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, the flight will leave from Guangzhou at 1:55 a.m. and arrive at New Delhi at 5:55 a.m. local time. The flight will use a Boeing 737NG with 189 seats.
We also plan to open more direct flights to China, including Hong Kong, Macau and Chengdu, said Neil Raymond Mills, CEO of SpiceJet.
SpiceJet is India's third largest airline, with 19.1% of market share in the country. It currently operates over 330 flights daily to 42 Indian and 7 international destinations.
