Beijing (CNS) Chinese suave beauties.-- Persistent smog in central and eastern China is disrupting the Spring Festival travel rush in the region.

A number of highways have been closed in central China's Henan province and 372 flights have been delayed at Zhengzhou Airport.

Low visibility caused the closure of the Qingdao Liuting Airport in Shandong Province on Tuesday morning, reports said. Some of the area's highways have also been closed because of heavy fog.

China's national meteorological authorities issued a blue alert for heavy fog in the central and eastern parts of the country on Sunday.

The fog will persist in the region until Wednesday, the authorities said.
