Nanchang (CNS)-- Two people were killed by an explosion at a fireworks factory in Shangli county of Pingxiang city, Jiangxi province, according to the local publicity department on Wednesday.

The accident happened at the Hua Dong factory at around 9:20 a.m. Wednesday. The deceased, Liang Guoqing and Zhang Bangwei, were both workers there.

An emergency plan has been launched and rescue groups have been dispatched to the factory, local authorities said.

The cause of the explosion is under investigation.
