Beijing(CNS) -- The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) said on Friday that anti-monopoly investigations are time consuming jobs that require patience and a lot of money.

The NDRC took about six years to investigate a recent landmark case against an LCD panel cartel, which some say is too long.

Collecting evidence for such cases is difficult and calls for careful preparation, the commission said.

Six major LCD panel producers, including Samsung Electronics, have had to pay 353 million yuan (US$56.6 million) for price-fixing practices, it added.
