Lhasa (CNS) ?C The Tibet region's GDP reached 70.1 billion yuan last year, an increase of 12 percent, according to the local authority on Thursday.

Citing the latest data, officials from the autonomous region said that Tibet's economy has maintained double-digit growth for 20 consecutive years.

Tibet's GDP grew 12 percent last year, and fixed asset investment increased 20.1 percent, according to the data. Meanwhile, fiscal revenue grew 46 percent and total foreign trade volume increased 170%. Tax revenues reached 14 billion yuan.

In addition, Tibet received over 10 million domestic and foreign tourists last year, bringing in 13.2 billion yuan.

The data also shows that Tibet's GDP was 50.6 billion yuan in 2010, 60.5 billion yuan in 2011 and 70.1 billion yuan in 2012. The region's economy has achieved growth of 10 billion yuan for three consecutive years.
