LHASA (CNS) -- Officials signed a Memorandum of Understanding to boost tourism between China and Nepal at the sixth meeting of the China-Nepal Tourism Joint Coordinating Committee, which concluded Tuesday in the Tibetan capital of Lhasa.
The two sides agreed to promote tourism industry development and the opening-up of ports.
According to incomplete statistics from Nepal, during the 2011 Nepal Tourism Year nearly 75,000 Chinese tourists visited the country. The number of Chinese tourists travelling to Nepal this year is expected to rise by 15 to 20 percent.
