Berlin (CNS)-- An exhibition featuring replicas of artifacts from the Old Summer Palace, or Yuanmingyuan, kicked off Wednesday in Berlin, Germany.
The exhibition at the city's Chinese Cultural Center features 200 pictures and models, as well as replicas of the bronze heads of the 12 animals of the Chinese zodiac.
Most of the artifacts are on display for the first time, according to palace management.
The Old Summer Palace not only embodies a mix of Western and Chinese culture, but also represents a common cultural heritage of contemporary people. We hope the exhibition will create more international interest in Chinese culture, said an event spokesperson.
