Hangzhou (CNS) -- China's e-commerce trade volume totaled 5.6 trillion yuan in the first three quarters of this year, a year-on-year growth of 25 percent, according to an official source on Wednesday.

Online trade has penetrated into every layer of economic and social life in China, and the e-commerce sector is developing at high speed, said Gan Lin, deputy director of China's State Administration for Industry and Commerce.

Along with that robust growth some problems have arisen, such as the sale of counterfeit and shoddy goods and transaction disputes caused by a flawed credit system, Gan said.
