Beijing(CNS)--Management procedures of foreign exchange involving foreign direct investment (FDI) will be simplified under a new regulation issued by the State Administration of Foreign Exchange (SAFE) on Wednesday.

Under the updated regulation, some management links involving FDI will be abolished, existing administrative procedures will be simplified and parts of the restrictions on the capital application in investment projects will be removed.

The new regulation will make trade and investment more convenient so as to better serve the real economy, according to an official at the administration.

The regulation will come into effect on Dec. 17.
