Shanghai (CNS) -- China held New Zealand to a 1-1 draw in an international football friendly on Wednesday. It was the last match of 2012 for the China national football team.
Looking back on the year, China played tepidly and fell to No. 88 on the newest FIFA ranking, the lowest in the past two years.
Jose Camacho, coach of the team, said at a press conference after the match that they could have played better if all the experienced members were present. He also said the scoring skills of the whole team needed to be improved.
He called for more patience, as it is difficult to make notable achievements in a short time.
Camacho deflected the question about when China would be able to regain qualification for the World Cup.
