Erdos (CNS) -- Renovation of the Mausoleum of Genghis Khan has been completed and it is ready for tourists, Gao Jie, from the mausoleum's administrative committee, said in Erdos, Inner Mongolia, on Wednesday.

A total of 360 square meters has been expanded on the basis of the original 400 square meters, with a Mongolian yurt added on top of the mausoleum, said Gao. The administrative committee took advice from local residents and experts before the restoration, he added.

A sacrificial ceremony held only in the year of dragon will take place on Nov. 18. Genghis Khan's holy spear, known as the numen of Mongolia, will be restored as part of the ceremony.

Located in Ejin Horo Banner of Erdos, the Mausoleum of Genghis Khan was classified among the first national intangible cultural heritages by the State Council.
