Ma'anshan (CNS) ?C?C Poets from all over the country converged Tuesday at the Li Bai Poetry Festival, where writer Mo Yan's Nobel Prize in literature was the focus of attention.
Writers and poets have been given hope by Mo Yan's prize, said Li Xiaoyu, vice chairman of the Poetry Institute of China.
Mo has integrated Chinese characteristics such as folktales and mythology with western writing methods, creating a unique style that has brought vitality to Chinese literature and stimulated writers, Li added.
A writer pen-named Dao Dao said post-80s poets may have a chance to win the Nobel Prize, but they shouldn't consider it a life pursuit.
The festival is named after the great poet Li Bai of the Tang Dynasty and held in Ma'anshan, a city in east China's Anhui Province, where Li Bai spent most of his later years.
The annual event has been held since 1989.
