Changchun (CNS) ?C The Changbai Mountain Management Committee in Jilin Province and the national travel bureau of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) have signed a cooperation agreement to explore tourism at Changbai Mountain, according to the Jilin government website on Wednesday.

It is the first travel project between the two countries at the scenic spot.

China plans to send related staff to inspect the part of the mountain located on the border with the DPRK, and both sides are to negotiate details such as exit procedures for cross-border tourists.

Changbai Mountain, known as Baekdu Mountain in the DPRK, is an active volcano and the source of the Songhua, Tumen and Yalu (Amnok) rivers.
