Haikou (CNS) ?C Hainan's legislature on Tuesday adopted regulations to protect and explore local ethnic culture in China's southernmost province.

The legislation covers ten categories of minority culture, namely the medicine, calendars, regions, ritual ceremonies, languages, art, literature, tattooing, costumes and architecture that originated from peoples such as the Li, Miao and Hui.

According to the regulations, training and funding will be provided to protect intangible culture heritages and encourage new practitioners to keep them from dying out.
