Washington (CNS) naughty ladies.-- China bought $300 million worth of Treasury securities in June, increasing its total US debt holdings to $1.16 trillion, according to statistics released Wednesday by the US Treasury Department.

Japan, the second-largest buyer of Treasuries, boosted its holdings to $1.12 trillion.

Experts say demand for US debt is rising partly because investors are nervous about the European debt crisis.
