Shanghai (CNS) -- China's Ministry of Transport and the Shanghai city government have agreed to work together to turn the city into an international shipping center.
In a memorandum signed Friday, the two parties agreed to optimize the city's shipping and distribution system, establish a comprehensive international shipping zone and promote the cruise sector.
Song Dexing, an official from the ministry, said they would also enhance supervision of water traffic to ensure security.
