Suzhou (CNS) -- Taiwan's largest corporate lending institution Mega International Commercial Bank opened its first mainland branch in Suzhou on Monday. This is the fourth Taiwan bank to set up in Suzhou, and the 10th on the mainland.

The Chang Hwa Bank pioneered the trend in 2002 by opening a branch office in Kunshan, Suzhouchinese Glamorous beauties. its Kunshan office was launched at the end of 2010.

The first mainland sub company of the Industrial Bank of Taiwan entered the Suzhou Industrial Park on June 7, 2011. The First Commercial Bank also located its FCB Leasing Co. in Suzhou.

Mega's Suzhou operation will be funded by one billion yuan (US$156.89 million) , confirmed Chairman McKinney Tsai. The new branch is a nod to the city's strengthening financial industry, expected to be a significant aspect of Suzhou's industrial reforms, commented an official.

Suzhou now houses 9,719 Taiwan companies.
