Bangkok (CNS) -- Spring Airlines will launch its new route between Shanghai and Bangkok on August 10, as the first Chinese budget airline company to squeeze into that market, the company announced in Bangkok on Monday.
The route will be served by the A320 aircraft on a daily basis, moving back and forth between Pudong Airport and Suvarnabhumi Airport.
One-way flight prices will start at an attractively low 399 yuan or 2,000 Thai Baht while the airline is drawing public interest as a newcomer in the market place. The bargain rate is only offered at the official Spring Airlines outlet.
China has become Thailand's second largest source of tourism revenues following Malaysia, according to the country's tourism authority. Air China, China Eastern Airlines, China Southern Airlines, and Thai Airways International have been competing fiercely to become the carrier of choice.
