Beijing (CNS) -- China now encourages all enterprises to invest in the tourism sector and regards private capital as a vital drive for development, the China National Tourism Administration announced Monday.

Private investment is encouraged in the exploration of tourism resources and the operation of scenic spots, the administration said.

The authority also said it supports private capital for hotels targeting tourists, travel equipment and public service.

It encouraged overseas joint ventures between private enterprises, as well as state-owned firms.
