Beijing (CNS) -- The Bank of China (BOC) announced on Monday it will finance Taiwan firms and SMEs developing on the mainland, setting aside 200 billion yuan (US$31.46 billion) for that in the next three years.

In the previous three-year term, BOC promised to disperse a fund of 50 billion yuan (US$7.87 billion) to such ventures and the funds granted actually exceeded that figure.

The bank confirmed that it has extended credit worth 170 billion yuan (US$26.74 billion) in the past three years to more than 700 Taiwan companies with which it has established business ties.
