Beijing (CNS) -- The focal priority of China's electric power industry is speeding up the transformation of electric power sources, according to the China Electricity Council.

New generation nuclear power facilities, the application of new energy to power generation, UHV transmission lines and smart grids are currently critical technologies for developing safer and more efficient power supplies.

China's national electric power generation capacity will reach 1.463 billion kW and total electricity consumption is expected to hit 631 million kW by the end of 2015, estimated the authority, Thursday.
