Beijing (CNS)-- Between 2011 and 2015, China's national planning stipulates 70 new airports will be established in the country. Renovation and expansion is on the books for over 101 existing airports, and 15 will be relocated. Every year 300 aircraft will join the sky traffic, added Li Jiaxiang, director of the Civil Administration of China, speaking at an industry meeting recently.

The 68th Annual Meeting of the International Air Transport Association commenced on June 11 in Beijing. It is not the largest-scale event in the global aviation sector but characterized by top-end industry participation.

This session analyzed the status quo of the global air transport industry, but made a point of focusing on timely topics such as the Chinese market, the future of airlines, public media and aviation, and the bio-fuel business, among others.
