Indonesia to apply Chinese loans to infrastructure

Kjakarta (CNS) -- Indonesia will carry out four large infrastructure projects this year, using loans from China in the amount of US$330 million and the World Bank in the amount of US$150 million, according to its Ministry of Public Works on Monday.

The four projects will cost US$930 billion altogether and include three sections of two highways in Jawa Barat and Sumatera Utara, to be supported by Chinese loans, as well as a dredging project in the country's 13 rivers financed solely by the World Bank.

All funds will be collected within 2012, an official at the ministry confirmed.
