Washington DC (CNS) -- Veteran diplomat Glyn Davies, the newly-appointed U.S. envoy for North Korea policy, announced on Monday that he will conduct his first visit to China December 13 to 15, to exchange opinions on the North Korean nuclear issue with his Chinese counterparts.

Accompanied by Clifford Hart, the U.S. envoy for the six-party talks, Davies will stop in Korea and Japan between December 7 and 11, and return to the States on December 15.

The former U.S. representative to the IAEA replaced his predecessor Bosworth at the end of October and soon after the shift, the two met with the North Korea delegation for a bilateral dialogue in Geneva.

The U.S. demonstrated its willingness to improve bilateral ties and support regional security in East Asia as long as North Korea comes back to the negotiation table at the six-party talks and proves its sincerity. Sincere measures include termination of all nuclear projects and missile experiments, and the promise not to attack Korea.
