Chengdu (CNS) -- Jeremy Browne, a British Minister of State at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, took time out from his duties to visit Tiantian and Yangguang, or "sweetie" and "sunshine," the two pandas about to set off for Britain, in the Bifengxia Panda Base, Ya'an, southwest China's Sichuan Province on Thursday.

The two pandas, both born in 2003 and in good health, will be sent to the Edinburgh Zoo for a 10-year exchange program. Managers from their home base will accompany them and care for the pair for at least two months after their arrival in the new home.

Browne was fascinated by the adorable creatures and couldn't help laughing out loud and imitating their child-like poses.

The Panada pause came during a two-day visit to the southwest where Browne met with officials from Chengdu and Chongqing to discuss the vital partnerships between his country and these strategically significant cities.
