Beijing (CNS)--The Beijing government will firmly restrict non-local college graduates from staying in Beijing, but will take more measures to promote the employment of graduates who do stay, China News Service reported Wednesday in Beijing, citing an official from the municipal personnel bureau.

By June, the overall employment rate reached 50.1%, which means job prospects in the capital city are improving, according to Zhang Zude deputy director of the Beijing Human Resources and Social Security Bureau. 229,000 students will graduate from schools in Beijing this year, added Zhang.

Zhang said the municipal government will strictly restrict grads from staying in Beijing, but will try its best to ensure the employment rate is above 95% through measures such as offering fiscal and social security subsidies and encouraging entrepreneurship.

Meanwhile, the job prospects for college graduates is improving this year as Beijing municipal organizations will provide more positions for them, according to Ding Xiangyang, the deputy mayor. Beijing needs more professionals in business, travel, and logistics, Ding added.
