China stocks close 1.71 percent lower Monday

Chinese shares closed lower Monday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index ending at 3,229.32 points, down 1.71 percent.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed at 11,285.18 points, down 0.35 percent.
