Crude prices retreat on profit-taking

Crude prices fell Monday as traders sold on profit-taking after last Friday's rally.

Light, sweet crude for February delivery moved down 1.87 dollars to settle at 55.26 U.S. dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
