Chinese stocks close lower Wednesday

Chinese shares closed lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.23 percent to finish at 2,240.21 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index dropped 0.25 percent to close at 8,023.07 points.
