China stocks close lower on Thursday

Chinese shares closed lower Thursday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.47 percent, or 9.57 points, to finish at 2,042.18.

The Shenzhen Component Index fell 0.41 percent, or 31.98 points, to close at 7,788.47.
