Chinese stocks close higher on Wednesday

Chinese shares closed higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.62 percent, or 13.49 points, to close at 2,206.61.

The Shenzhen Component Index rose 0.59 percent, or 49.47 points, to finish at 8,510.68.
