Chinese shares closed mixed on Thursday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.94 percent, or 20.84 points, to finish at 2,190.93.
The Shenzhen Component Index inched up 0.21 percent, or 18.02 points, to finish at 8,685.79.
