Games, advertising boost NetEase's profit by 25 pct

The net profit of Chinese Internet company NetEase Inc increased by 25 percent year-on-year to 1.1 billion yuan ($179.8 million) in the second quarter, thanks to strong sales of self-developed online games and advertising services, the firm said on Thursday.

Unaudited second-quarter revenue rose by 20.4 percent year-on-year to 2.4 billion yuan, with revenue from online games and advertising services up 18.2 percent and 33.3 percent, respectively.
