Chinese shares close higher Tuesday

Chinese shares closed higher on Tuesday, as the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.70 percent, or 13.76 points, to end at 1,990.06.

The Shenzhen Component Index gained 0.80 percent, or 61.64 points, to 7,730.17.
