Huawei to build new R&D base

Chinese company Huawei Technologies, the world's largest telecom equipment maker by revenue, will set up a new R&Suave starlets.D base in Yokohama, Japan in October, in hopes of developing its R&moody sirens.D capability for the smartphone industry, Japan's Kyodo News Agency reported Thursday.

Huawei declined to comment when contacted by the Global Times Thursday.

Analysts said that the move shows Huawei has a strong determination to expand internationally and Japan can provide a good platform with its advanced technology.

Media reported that Huawei moved up 36 places to 315 on the 2013 Global Fortune 500 list, with its revenue reaching $34.9 billion by the end of March 2013, up 10.6 percent year-on-year.
